01:08

In Shanxi Province, farmers in Pinglu County are busy harvesting persimmons. In Pinglu's Maquangou Village, households are drying persimmons, which are popular sweet snacks on the market this season. The dried persimmons from this village are known as the Shuihua persimmon. It's seedless, and the dried fruit can even melt in water.

Persimmon planting in this village dates back 1,300 years. It has evolved into a cottage industry with a complete production, bringing an annual income of nearly two million yuan (about $300,000) to Maquangou. The delicious persimmons and the village's beautiful landscapes are also attracting more visitors.
