Libya will hold presidential and legislative elections as scheduled on December 24, Al Arabiya reported citing a statement from the international meeting on Libya, which was held in Paris on Friday. 

The December elections are the core parts of a UN plan to help restore stability, but the calendar has been under pressure as tensions flare once more between rival camps.

On Friday, world leaders and diplomats from countries including France, Libya, Germany and Egypt gathered in Paris for the international meeting on the situation.

The meeting will get underway at 1400 GMT with a press conference at 1730 GMT.
