The Chinese mainland recorded 75 newly-confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday, with 57 linked to local transmissions and 18 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Saturday.

In addition, 34 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 518 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 98,174, with the death toll of 4,636 unchanged since January.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,378 (12,072 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 77 (76 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,475 (13,742 recoveries, 848 deaths)
