The streets are empty in Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning Province. By Thursday, authorities had confirmed 135 COVID-19 cases, with another 80 asymptomatic ones. Most are in Dalian's county-level city Zhuanghe, where a second mass testing is to be conducted.

The authorities are working to contain the outbreak and limit its effect on society and livelihoods.
