The Chinese mainland recorded 89 newly-confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday, with 70 linked to local transmissions and 19 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Sunday.

In addition, 25 new asymptomatic cases were recorded, while 532 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 98,263, with the death toll of 4,636 unchanged since January.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,380 (12,087 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 77 (76 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,479 (13,742 recoveries, 848 deaths)
