China and the U.S. should increase cooperation on natural gas and new energy, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a virtual meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday.

The two countries should call on the international community to jointly maintain global energy security, Xi said.

China and the U.S., together with the international community, should also maintain the security and stability of the global energy industrial and supply chains, he added.
