In view of the new developments in globalization, President Xi Jinping put forward the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) for international cooperation eight years ago. 

Since then, a total of 172 countries and international organizations have signed over 200 cooperation agreements with China on the joint construction of the Belt and Road.

The latest data show that cumulative trade between China and its BRI partners has exceeded $9.2 trillion, and Chinese businesses' direct investment in countries along the route exceeded $130 billion.
