Originally built in 1891 as a naval pier, the iconic Zhanqiao Pier's construction is as old as Qingdao City. The Chinese octagon pavilion at the south end of the bridge is also an icon to the city-it is displayed as the logo of the most well-known Chinese beer brand, "Tsingtao."
