Many of China's small and medium-sized enterprises have landed on hard times since the COVID-19 pandemic. The State Council Information Office has briefed the media on how it plans to improve public support for such businesses. Policies include increasing subsidies, loans and tax cuts,  easing pressure from rising production costs, ensuring due payments, and creating jobs. Other programs will focus on keeping the power supply going and boosting market demand.
