The Chinese mainland recorded 19 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, with five linked to local transmissions and 14 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday.

A total of 18 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded, and 494 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 98,524, with the death toll unchanged since January at 4,636.

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 12,404 (12,119 recoveries, 213 deaths)

Macao: 77 (77 recoveries)

Taiwan: 16,532 (13,742 recoveries, 848 deaths)
