A puma and a glacier – does it look like an unlikely combination? Well, check these amazing pictures:

The feline is perched on the edges of a glacier in Los Glaciares National Park in Patagonia, Argentina. In one image, the 180-pound puma is curled up in a secluded cove on the iceberg, taking a break from a long swim. In another image, the puma stretches out and prowls around the top of the iceberg. Professional photographer Luis Alejandro Acharez Ramos from El Calafate, Patagonia, Argentina, took the eye-popping photographs.

The puma, or cougar/mountain lion, is the most common of any large wild terrestrial mammal in the western hemisphere. Its range covers North and South America. The highly adaptable big cat can be found in all forest types, in lowland and mountainous deserts, steep canyons and rocks, as well as open areas with little vegetation. However, its appearance on a glacier is rare.
