China's highest-altitude road maintenance station connected to grid
A maintenance station on the Qinghai-Tibet Highway has been connected to the state grid. It offers a stable power supply for highway maintenance workers who brave the cold of this vast plateau in western China. Isolated from any nearby towns, the station had to rely on generators in the past. This year, the local power company managed to install the station, whilst battling the extreme weather in the region. After two months of effort, a 10 kV transmission line was erected, connecting the maintenance station to the state grid.
