Seven gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals were awarded to the team from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at China's National Games this year. Players from the region made history in many events, including football – a sport that is already a big part of the lives of Xinjiang residents. The local government has made sure the region's young people have access to football fields, to hone their skills and play the sport they love. Officials vowed that Xinjiang will continue to improve local fitness facilities through the end of 2025, so people of all ethnic groups in the region can enjoy physical activity and sports.
