A magnitude-5.8 earthquake struck Myanmar at 6.15 a.m. local time Friday, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The earthquake struck near the town of Hakha, approximately 950 kilometers northwest of the capital Yangon, and the epicenter was at a depth of 60 kilometers, the EMSC said. 

There were no immediate reports of casualties.
