The People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command conducted a combat readiness patrol near the Taiwan Straits on Friday, said Senior Colonel Shi Yi, spokesperson for the Eastern Theater Command of the PLA.
The PLA stands on high alert and takes all necessary measures to smash external forces' intervention and attempts of "Taiwan independence" secessionist forces, Shi said.
