The second Belt and Road Green Development Conference organized by the China Center for International Cultural Exchanges and Renmin University of China gathered over 50 officials, scholars, and representatives of international organizations to discuss green development in a carbon-neutral world and the Green Winter Olympics on Friday. 

"We are here to jointly discuss the green development against the background of carbon neutrality. And we are here to jointly discuss great action plans and exchange green development experience," Vice Chairman of China International Culture Exchange Center Kong Dan said during the event, which was held virtually.

"We highlight its power to produce innovations that enable mitigation in another attention to planning changes as well as promote the Glasgow commitments," Irit Ben-abba, Israeli Ambassador to China, noted. She added that the prime minister is very updated and raised climate change policy in Glasgow, leading to reach zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Ali Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to China, pointed out that climate change is a serious challenge facing the world. However, "we can look to the classical climate park as a meaningful point of progress in the advancement of international climate change policy," he said.

Participants also held discussions on other aspects such as economic incentives to promote green development. 

The Belt and Road Green Development Institute, founded in 2019, aims to promote cooperation among countries in the Belt and Road Initiative in support of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
