Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Friday Ukraine was ready to deal with an escalation in its conflict with Moscow, amid growing concern over Russian military activity on the border, AFP reported. 

"There is a threat today that there will be war tomorrow," Zelensky told a press conference. "We are entirely prepared for an escalation."

Ukraine has uncovered a plot for an "attempted coup" with the involvement of Russians, which would have taken place next week, Zelenskiy said.

The Kremlin denied any role in any coup plot, saying it had no plans to take part in such acts.
