Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the closing ceremony of the China-Russia Year of Scientific and Technological Innovation on Friday.
In the letter, Xi spoke highly of the technical cooperation between the two countries despite of the COVID-19 pandemic and noted that fruitful results have been achieved in areas such as epidemic control, aerospace, nuclear and the digital economy.
According to Xi, the successful launch of China-Russia Technology Investment Fund and the remarkable progress made in major project cooperation indicate the huge potential of the technical cooperation between the two sides.
China and Russia are each other's biggest neighboring country, Xi stressed, adding that the two countries are playing an increasingly important role in international politics and economy.
He called on the two sides to stay committed to the friendly bilateral relations and the idea of win-win cooperation, and step up the exchanges and cooperation in various fields with concrete efforts so as to push forward the development of bilateral ties to a higher level.
Xi also said that he hopes the close bilateral ties would inject new impetus to the establishment of a new type of international relations as well as a community with a shared future for mankind.
Putin, who also sent a congratulatory letter to the event, said in his letter that the successful hosting of China-Russia Year of Scientific and Technological Innovation is of great importance to the bilateral technical cooperation under the framework of comprehensive strategic partners of coordination for a new era.
Echoing Xi's words, Putin said he hopes the two sides can maintain the sound momentum of bilateral ties and keep inject new impetus to the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
