Storm Arwen left at least two dead, and electricity supplies were cut in many parts as it thrashed the northeast part of the UK.

Over 110,000 customers were without power and more than 550 instances of damage on the network, Northern Powergrid, which delivers electricity to properties in the North East of England and Yorkshire, according to its official Twitter.

The Met Office had issued rare red weather warning for northeastern of the UK as Storm Arwen brought high winds and disruption for much of the UK.
