China successfully launched its new Zhongxing-1D satellite aboard a Long March-3B carrier rocket at 0:40 a.m. (BJT) on Saturday, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The satellite has since successfully entered its predetermined orbit. The launch marks the 399th mission for the Long March series of carrier rockets.
