New York governor issues Omicron variant state of emergency

New York Governor Kathy Hochul issued a state of emergency order on Friday, in response to the identification of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

According to a copy of the order, the state will limit non-essential and elective procedures in situations where a facility has less than 10% staffed bed capacity through January 15, 2022.
