South Africa: Excellent science should be applauded and not punished for detecting Omicron

South Africa has complained it is being punished, instead of applauded, for detecting the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron. The foreign ministry made the statement as a number of countries announced travel restrictions from South Africa. The ministry says, "Excellent science should be applauded and not punished."
