The city of Manzhouli in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region reported eight new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases from Sunday noon to Monday noon, increasing the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 28, local health authorities said at a news briefing on Monday.
One subdistrict in Manzhouli is now classified as high-risk and another one as medium-risk, according to the city's epidemic prevention and control headquarters.
The first round of mass testing in Manzhouli City has been completed and 60 of the 175,554 samples were positive.
All public transport in the city, including flights, trains, buses and taxis, has been suspended to contain the latest COVID-19 resurgence.
