Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin respectively sent congratulatory letters to the third China-Russia Energy Business Forum on Monday, hailing the remarkable progress achieved in the bilateral energy cooperation.
Noting that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, Xi hailed the fruitful results yielded in the comprehensive strategic coordination and pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.
Viewing energy cooperation as an important area in the bilateral cooperation, Xi said the remarkable progress made by the two sides in this regard shows the world the promising prospect of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era.
China is ready to work with Russia to push forward a closer energy cooperation partnership between the two sides to safeguard energy security and tackle the global challenge of climate change with joint efforts.
Putin, for his part, spoke highly of the high-level development of bilateral ties. He welcomed the positive progress made in the bilateral energy cooperation and hopes that enterprises of the two countries would enhance coordination and explore cooperation potential in areas such as energy digitalization and green energy so as to inject new impetus to China-Russia cooperation in energy aspect.
