In November 2012, Dai Mingmeng from the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) successfully landed the J-15 fighter on China's first aircraft carrier Liaoning for the first time. On May 10, 2013, the PLAN formally established the first carrier-based aviation unit. In December 2015, several pilots passed the aircraft carrier qualification test. In 2018, J-15 fighters broke through the difficulty of ship-based takeoff and landing at nighttime. Since the first successful landing of the J-15 nine years ago, China's aircraft carrier-based aviation unit has been continuously moving forward.
