An armed man surrendered to police after a standoff that lasted about two hours outside the UN headquarters building in New York on Thursday. Footage shows man pacing outside the UN building, holding a shotgun with its muzzle against his chin. The man surrendered at 1:40 p.m., and was taken to a hospital for evaluation, NYPD Chief of Special Operations Harry Wedin said. No staff or associates were hurt during the standoff, the UN said.
