Several types of state-level protected animals were recently caught on infrared cameras in the Sanjiangyuan National Park in northwest China's Qinghai Province, highlighting greater biodiversity in the region due to years of intensified conservation efforts. 

One adult snow leopard was seen with two cubs – a rare sighting. Their neighbors, a white-lipped deer and an alpine musk deer, were also spotted. They are all under the country's first-class state protection. Besides, two blue sheep under second-class state protection were captured hanging around the same spot.

The footage was filmed between late August and early September at the source area of the Yangtze River in the Sanjiangyuan National Park.

Thanks to increased ecological conservation efforts in the Sanjiangyuan National Park, the source area of the Yangtze River has become home to a wide variety of rare wild animals and emerged as one of the areas with the richest biodiversity in Qumalai County.
