The government of Xi'an City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, has rolled out a smart monitoring platform to protect the ecology of the Qinling National Park.

Equipped with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data and the Internet of Things, the smart platform is able to interconnect and analyze the data collected from satellites, drones, grid-based community workers and relevant government offices.

Officials said the database will help the government monitor and address problems such as illegal logging, mining, hunting and construction in the national park.

The Qinling National Park is known as China's biological gene bank as it houses a huge variety of wildlife.
