China's Foreign Ministry on Monday called on all parties in Myanmar to continue to advance democratic transition, in response to the sentencing of Aung San Suu Kyi and President U Win Myint. 

"We sincerely hope that political parties of Myanmar will, for the long-term interests of the country and the nation, bridge differences under constitutional and legal framework, and constantly advance the hard-won democratic transition process suited to Myanmar's national conditions," China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao told the press.
