The Chinese mainland recorded 61 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, with 38 linked to local transmissions and 23 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Monday.   

A total of 44 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded, and 487 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.   

Confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland now total 99,203, with the death toll unchanged since January at 4,636.   

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows:   

Hong Kong: 12,461 (12,149 recoveries, 213 deaths)   

Macao: 77 (77 recoveries)   

Taiwan: 16,652 (13,742 recoveries, 848 deaths)
