Chinese youth break away from traditional tea house culture

According to legend, it's been almost 5,000 years since tea was first discovered by Chinese Emperor Shen Nong when leaves from a wild tea shrub were blown into his pot of boiling water. Since then, tea has traveled across the oceans and become one of the most popular beverages on the planet. 

But at its ancestral home, how is the beverage being enjoyed today by both the young and the old, and why are there chiming metal rods at some Chinese tea houses?
