Russia has detected its first two domestic cases of the Omicron variant in two citizens who arrived in Russia from South Africa, TASS news agency reported on Monday. 

Meanwhile, Argentine health authority said they have also detected the country's first case of the Omicron coronavirus variant in a person who had traveled from South Africa.

The 38-year-old resident of the western Argentine province of San Luis arrived on November 30 on a flight via the U.S.
