Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed hailed government forces' victory in regaining control of key towns in the northern Amhara region from the Tigray People's Liberation Front. The Tigray rebels held the towns of Dessie and Kombolcha in late October and were planning to advance on the capital Addis Ababa. Prime Minister Abiy, who has been seen on the front lines, said the victory over the rebels will be repeated.
