Eradication of poverty is a constant standard to judge a country's human rights situation, former Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Muratbek Imanaliyev said on Wednesday, noting China has achieved remarkably in this regard.
Speaking at the South-South Human Rights Forum in Beijing on Wednesday, Imanaliyev said developed countries should protect the human rights of people in need rather than rich and powerful people.
The forum centered on the theme "Putting People First and Global Human Rights Governance" and was co-hosted by China's State Council Information Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
