Prosecution fails to show up on the trial of ousted Sudanese President
01:11

The trial of ousted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir in Khartoum faces a legal challenge. Bashir's defense team said the prosecution was deliberately absent from court sessions to delay the case and prolong his detention. Members of the prosecuting team were among those affected by the army's decision to dissolve Sudan's Sovereign Council and Council of Ministers when the military seized power in October. Bashir's defense team has requested that the court dismiss the charges.
