South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has criticized rich countries for ordering more vaccines than their populations require and leaving "crumbs" for poorer countries. Ramaphosa was addressing the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security on Monday. The South African leader said the solution to the unequal distribution of vaccines is to waive patents, so countries in Africa could produce generic versions of the drugs themselves.
