COVID-19 has given people a chance to rethink and redesign everything in the past, and better face challenges in the future, Muhammad Yunus said on Wednesday.

Speaking at the South-South Human Rights Forum in Beijing on Wednesday, Yunus, a renowned Bangladeshi banker and Nobel Peace Prize and Olympic laureate, said the world is facing challenges in climate change, wealth inequality and unemployment. He said we should not return to the pre-pandemic economic system, but should redesign a new one.

The forum centered on the theme "Putting People First and Global Human Rights Governance" and was co-hosted by China's State Council Information Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
