China's healthcare system further improved in different aspects since a new round of medicine and healthcare system reforms in 2009. As the world's most populous country, China has always put people's health at the top of its policy agenda, working hard to improve the health of its population and making universal health a primary goal of development. In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the world, healthcare systems worldwide were faced with a major challenge. So how did China's healthcare system fare during the pandemic? And what will be the trend of the country's healthcare reform in post-pandemic era?
