In Chinese mythology, Tiangong (天宫), means "Heavenly Palace," which is the home of Tian Di (天帝), the supreme ruler of the heavens. China's space station, presently being built by the Chinese Manned Space Agency in low Earth orbit, has been given this name due to its celestial connotation.
