Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Cypriot counterpart Nikos Christodoulides signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Tuesday intended to boost diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez spokesperson tweeted that the agreement was inked between the Diplomatic Academy of the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute of Diplomatic Studies at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The agreement follows an earlier MOU signed in October aimed at studying the establishment of an electrical interconnection project between Egypt and Cyprus.
