Kenya's Ministry of Health has confirmed that it has found the country's first three cases of Omicron variant of coronavirus in three travelers, becoming the latest country to report the variant's existence following Cambodia and Rwanda.
Rwanda previously announced that it had found the first six cases of the fast-spreading variant, prompting the government to escalate pandemic containment measures, including shutting down nightclubs and extending quarantines for international travelers.
Earlier on Wednesday, Cambodia also said it detected its first case of Omicron in a local woman who had traveled from Ghana.
