Former Serbian president: 'Multipolar' world provides wider democratization

Tomislav Nikolic, former president of Serbia and president of the National Council for Coordination of Cooperation with the Russian Federation and People's Republic of China, delivered a speech on Wednesday at the closing session of the International Forum on Democracy: Shared Human Values.

"International relations must not be founded upon the politics of force and the diplomacy of weapons, but solely upon the appreciation of all and of everyone's position presented at this global rostrum," he stressed. "I am also confident that a 'multipolar' world provides a wider democratization than the focus on one power, for this turns into addiction, followed by absolute obedience, slavery and disappearance. I believe that we all want to avoid this."
