China is urging the U.S. to maintain an open and fair business environment in the technology sector as globalization is a reality and historical trend. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian made the remarks as Washington is reportedly considering tougher sanctions on the Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation. The company is a main producer of chips in China. Zhao also urged the U.S. not to use trade policy to restrict the development of other countries.
