Typhoon Rai made landfall in eastern Philippines on Thursday afternoon, bringing torrential rains and forcing nearly 100,000 residents to evacuate.

China's Meteorological Administration has been closely monitoring Rai and offered this video to explain the typhoon from a meteorological perspective.
