The central Chinese city of Changsha has detected two imported COVID-19 cases involving the Omicron coronavirus variant, local media reported on Saturday.

The variant was found during the genome sequencing of samples collected from two individuals arriving in Changsha from overseas. Both of them are receiving treatment at designated hospital, said the report.
