Russia on Friday demanded that the United States and its allies halt all military activity in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. It hit back at NATO and the U.S. for what it called hostile actions against it. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said such moves must stop. Meanwhile, in the U.S., a senior administration official said the Biden administration is prepared to discuss Russia's proposals but will not compromise on principles that are the foundation of Europe's security.
