The election for the seventh-term Legislative Council (LegCo) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) kicked off Sunday morning, the first since the improvement to the HKSAR electoral system. A total of 153 candidates are competing for 90 seats in the LegCo election. Dr. Lee Hoey Simon, a convenor of the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee Working Group on Teachers and Students, shared his insight with CGTN. He said that it's now time for Hong Kong to move forward, strengthen economy and social stability.
