Legislative Council (LegCo) election polls opened at 8:30 a.m. local time on Sunday in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) in the first election since the improvement to its electoral system. Former HKSAR Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying has praised the region's improved electoral system, saying that it cuts off those who want to harm Hong Kong.
