It's the first Legislative Council (LegCo) election after the improvement of the electoral system in the Special Administrative Region under the principle of "patriots administering Hong Kong." Polling stations are open, including three on its border with Shenzhen, for the convenience of Hong Kong voters residing in the Chinese mainland. The new Legislative Council will consist of 90 members.
