China Mobile, the world's largest mobile network operator by total subscribers, is planning to raise up to 56 billion yuan, or $8.8 billion, from its public offering on the Shanghai bourse. According to Chen Jiahe, chief investment officer at Novem Arcae Technologies, the decision is not a retreat from Wall Street but offers more choices to international investors, reflecting China's capital market moving much closer to the world.
